cNGN's biggest week moved more money, not more people
cNGN moved $20.87M in the week to 25 October, its highest transfer volume on record. Transfer count was only the fifth-highest. The gap is the whole story: BSC moves a thousand large tickets, Base moves seventeen thousand small ones.

cNGN moved $20,865,828 in the week of 19 to 25 October — the highest transfer volume we have recorded for it, past the $18.85M of 31 August.
It did that on 19,121 transfers, which is only the fifth-highest count in the series. The week of 7 September saw 30,705 transfers and moved $14.12M.
More money, fewer movements. That gap is the interesting part.
Two chains, two different things
| Chain | Transfers | Volume | Average |
|---|---|---|---|
| BSC | 1,068 | $13,675,604 | $12,805 |
| Base | 17,457 | $7,111,411 | $407 |
BSC carries the value and almost none of the activity. A thousand transfers a week, averaging nearly thirteen thousand dollars each. That is desk-sized movement — treasury, settlement, market making — not people paying each other.
Base carries the activity. Seventeen thousand transfers at four hundred dollars. It is 91% of cNGN's transfer count and 34% of its value.
They are not two views of one market. They are two different economies using the same token.
What actually changed this week
BSC was roughly flat — $15.09M the week before, $13.68M this week.
The move was Base, where the average transfer went from $103 to $407 while the count rose 42%. Base volume went from $1.27M to $7.11M.
We would not read that as Base suddenly carrying four times the commerce. Base cNGN volume has swung like this before — $10.72M in the week of 28 September on a $711 average, then $2.92M the week after. A small number of large movements on a chain that is otherwise full of small ones will do this, and the transfer count is the steadier signal.
The rest of the native book
cNGN is 93% of all native stablecoin transfer volume we track. The rest, in full:
- ZARP $864,565 on 11,114 transfers — down 47.9% on the week, and the only other native token with meaningful transaction count.
- ZARU $599,115 on 53 transfers. That is an average of $11,304 and it is not growth; it is a handful of large movements on a near-empty base. We are reporting the count beside it precisely so it does not read as adoption.
- cNGN on Mento (Celo) $88,645 on 3 transfers, while its supply fell from $50,988 to $21,407.
- nTZS $3,897, cGHS $1,372, ZARSC $798, cKES $459, eXOF $166, cZAR $7.
Against $2.74M of circulating cNGN, $20.87M of weekly transfers is the supply turning over 7.6 times in seven days. For a token this size, velocity is the number worth watching — not supply, and not any single week's volume.
Method
Transfer volume is on-chain transfers only — event_type 'transfer' — and excludes mints and burns, which would otherwise double-count issuance as activity. Measured across the six chains where cNGN is deployed (BSC, Base, Celo, Asset Chain, Solana, Ethereum) for the ISO week of 19–25 October 2026, valued at the daily rate. Records are checked against every week in the series, not the recent window: $20,865,828 is the highest weekly transfer volume we have recorded for cNGN, while 19,121 transfers is the fifth-highest count, behind 30,705 in the week of 7 September. Supply is end-of-period circulating supply across the same chains. Percentages on the smaller tokens are stated with their transfer counts, because a handful of large movements on a thin base is not a trend.
