NumoFX
A 24/7 exchange for currencies that normally stop trading. Hedging the naira usually means a Nigerian bank account, an NDF desk and a counterparty willing to face you; Numo replaces that with an order book and a cash-settled future, so a business that needs dollars can lock today's rate and a trader abroad can take the other side to earn the gap between Nigerian and US rates. Matching happens off chain, every fill settles on chain, and the venue never holds the naira itself — only cNGN and dollars against it.
These are the naira markets — 99.8% of everything settled here. NumoFX also lists EUR ($33.51), which is not African FX and is carried rather than headlined. As it lists more frontier currencies these figures will cover them, and this line will say so.
What NumoFX has done
Throughput, trend and momentum — every market combined, valued in dollars. A level shows its latest and peak rather than a total, because summing a position is meaningless.
Settled volume is every market combined, valued in dollars. 99% of it is derived rather than observed: a futures fill moves no quote leg, so its notional is the position size marked at the chain's own price. The exact subset — both legs settling on chain — is $234.68.
Period-on-period change
Growth at whichever grain the trend is set to. Off a venue this young the outliers are real; the median is the honest summary.
