A million dollar-account settlements

The virtual-account rail AfriFlux tracks crossed 1,000,000 settlements on 19 Oct — $376M of stablecoin paid into the USD accounts of 5 Nigerian neobanks, Bridge-attributed. 2026 alone has already passed all of 2025.

A virtual account is the dollar account a cross-border neobank gives a user so a client abroad can pay them. The money arrives as stablecoin, settles onchain, and the user sees a USD balance. It is a different rail from the deposit addresses we normally measure for a venue, and we measure it separately — the share we can attribute to Bridge, the issuing partner behind these accounts.

Yesterday that rail passed a round number. Across the five neobanks we track on it, Bridge-attributed settlements crossed 1,000,000 on 19 October — 1,001,311 in all, carrying $376.0M into dollar accounts since the first one in October 2023.

Cumulative virtual-account settlements climbing from near zero in 2023 to cross 1,000,000 on 19 October 2026, ending at 1,001,311 with $376.0M moved across 5 neobanks.

The curve is young, and steepening

For most of 2024 this was a trickle: the rail did not pass its first 10,000 settlements until late that year. Then it turned. 2026 alone has already moved $225.8M across 540,734 settlements — more than all of 2025 ($149.2M, 440,287), with two and a half months of the year still to run. Monthly volume climbed from $13.5M in January to around $29M through the third quarter; August set the settlement record at 78,080 in a single month.

2026 so far has already passed all of 2025: virtual-account volume $225.8M vs $149.2M (+51%) and settlements 541k vs 440k (+23%), with two and a half months of the year still to run.

One neobank carries most of it

The million is not evenly spread. Grey Finance alone is 766,418 settlements — 77% of the count — and $314.6M, or 84% of the dollars. Raenest ($39.1M) and Chipper ($10.1M) follow, with Onboard and Accrue smaller and steadier. Chipper is the opposite shape to Grey: 112,223 settlements for $10.1M, an average near $90 — micro-payouts — against a rail-wide average of about $375. These are salaries, invoices and remittances landing in dollars, not treasury movement.

Settlements by neobank: Grey Finance 766,418 ($314.6M), Chipper 112,223 ($10.1M), Raenest 106,427 ($39.1M), Onboard 9,243 ($6.8M), Accrue 7,000 ($5.4M). Grey is 77% of settlements and 84% of the dollars.

What this figure is, and is not

This is the virtual-account settlement we can attribute to Bridge. It is a floor, not a ceiling.

A neobank can run virtual accounts through more than one issuing partner, and can settle some of the same product in fiat, through correspondent banks or local rails that leave no onchain record. None of that is in this number, and we make no claim about how much of it exists. What we can say is that the flow attributed to this one rail, across these five neobanks, crossed a million settlements yesterday — and that 2026 has already outrun the whole of last year.

Method

Stablecoin settlements into virtual accounts that we can attribute to Bridge, the issuing partner behind these accounts, read onchain and aggregated across five neobanks from the first settlement in October 2023 to 19 October 2026, valued in USD at the time of transfer. This is the Bridge-attributed share only — a floor, not each neobank's total virtual-account volume — and excludes any other issuing or fiat partner, the venues' own retail deposit books, withdrawals, and all off-chain activity.
