The market recorded more deposits in a week than ever before

168,908 deposits across the 20 live venues in the index, past the 165,281 set in the week of 17 August. It happened in a week when volume was flat and active wallets fell, so the record is in transaction count alone.

The 20 live venues in our index recorded 168,908 deposits in the week of 21 to 27 September — the most in any week we have measured, past the 165,281 of 17 August.

Every other headline was flat or down.

Where they came from

Spenda alone recorded 76,906 of them — 46% of every deposit in the market — at an average of $33.

But it was not only Spenda, whose own deposits actually fell 6% this week. Monica did 37,433, its highest ever. Jeroid did 3,390 and Busha 8,994, both up.

So the record is broad, and it sits on top of a falling wallet count. The same population transacted more often, in smaller amounts.

Method

Attributed retail stablecoin deposit counts across the 20 live venues in the AfriFlux index for the ISO week of 21–27 September 2026, ranked against every complete week in the series. Deposit-side only. Deposits per wallet is the week's deposit count divided by its distinct active depositing addresses, and is not a claim about distinct people. Venues that are mapped but not yet published are excluded, as are business-only venues.
